Brother Paul Holzer is married to the former Valerie Buckner. They have one son, Christian Alexander.
Brother Holzer is the second oldest of four children: Mary Lou McLaughlin, the oldest; Janet Leathers
and Louis Holzer, Jr., his younger siblings. He attended South Hills Catholic High School, and graduated
from Penn State University with a B.S. degree in Computer Science. He moved to the Philadelphia area
in 1973 and began his career in information technology as a programmer. Over the years, Brother
Holzer developed skills in software testing and systems analysis, working for E.I. DuPont de Nemours
and Sun Oil Company.
While working at Sun Oil Company, Brother Holzer met his wife, Valerie, who introduced him to the
Church of Christ. Even though he was raised as a Catholic and attended the Catholic Church, he felt
there was so much more in the Bible that wasn’t taught. It wasn’t until he started attending Chester
Church of Christ with Valerie, that he began to understand the Bible and its teachings. The Holzers were
married in 1998 and moved to Mitchellville, MD in 2000.
The Holzers attended the Capital Church of Christ for five years, before coming to Prince George’s
Church of Christ in 2006. Brother McClure’s sermons and teaching led him to be baptized in 2010.
